Feature Requests & Custom Development

Everything beyond the core platform — industry modules, integrations, workflows — goes through our feature request system.

KamoCRM ships a focused all-in-one platform: CRM, communications, documents, and AI. We intentionally don't try to be everything to every industry out of the box. Instead, we let customers drive what gets built next — through a structured request system.

Three ways to get the features you need

Vote on existing requests

Browse existing requests submitted by other customers. Upvote the ones that matter to your business. Requests with the most votes move to the top of the roadmap.

Sponsor custom development

Need something urgent and specific? Sponsor its development. Your company gets first access, and the feature then becomes part of the core platform.

Request a custom build

For deployment-specific needs that don't make sense for the broader platform, we can build custom functionality scoped to your workspace.

The model

We focus core engineering on deep, universal platform capabilities — CRM primitives, communications, documents, AI, multi-tenant architecture. Everything else lives outside the core and gets prioritized by customer demand.

This keeps the platform lean and avoids bloating every customer's deployment with industry-specific features they don't use. When enough customers need something, it ships. When one customer urgently needs something, they can sponsor it.

Core principle

Every customer gets the full unified platform. What differs is which industry-specific or customer-specific features sit on top — and those are driven by requests, not by what we guessed would sell.

Examples of what's been requested

Real estate: power dialer with voicemail drop
Financial services: SEC-compliant archive export
Home services: field technician dispatch with routing
Nonprofits: 501(c)(3) tax receipt automation
Martial arts: belt progression tracking
Manufacturing: ERP integration (SAP, NetSuite, Epicor)
SaaS: usage-based billing with Stripe metered
Agencies: retainer-aware time tracking

FAQ

Who decides what gets built?
Customer demand, weighted by paying customers. We publish the roadmap so you can see priorities and vote to influence order.
How long does a typical custom feature take to ship?
Small additions: weeks. Medium modules (an industry-specific workflow): 1-3 months. Deep integrations or large new surfaces: 3-6 months. Depends on complexity and sponsor involvement.
If I sponsor development, do I own the feature?
No — the feature becomes part of the platform available to all customers. Your sponsorship gets you priority access, input on the design, and beta testing. Exclusivity is possible on custom-build engagements; discuss on a case-by-case basis.
What does sponsorship cost?
Scoped per feature — small enhancements start low, custom integrations scale with complexity. Enterprise customers often wrap sponsored development into their annual agreement.
Is there a public roadmap?
Yes. Current priorities and development status are published on our changelog and request-voting pages.
What if I just want to share feedback?
Submit a request without voting or sponsoring — it goes into the backlog alongside everything else. If other customers resonate, it gains momentum.
